Lake Park's rebate program gives back to homeowner
Lake Park (Minn.) Public Utilities recently presented homeowner Mark Johnson a check in the amount of $425 as part of the Bright Energy Solutions® rebate program. This program encourages energy efficient choices by offering cash incentives for qualifying equipment. The ultimate goal of this program is to help Lake Park Utility customers save money on their electrical usage and help control the use of a valuable resource.
This past spring, Mark installed a new central air conditioner, a high-efficiency furnace with an electronically commutated motor (more commonly called ECM,) and a programmable thermostat. Because he chose equipment that was more efficient than the standard, he received cash back from the utility. In addition, he will save almost 1,300 kilowatt hours annually in usage. This equals about $130 in savings!
Almost half of the energy used in your home goes to heating and cooling, so choosing equipment with higher efficiency ratings or ENERGY STAR® certified equipment can have a big impact on your comfort, and utility bills. Lake Park Public Utilities offers a number of rebates for qualifying heating and cooling equipment.
