Prairie Rose & Nelson Cty. Courthouse Earn Rebates

Prairie Rose of Lakota and the Nelson County Courthouse have recently completed projects that involve energy efficiency upgrades to the lighting of their facilities. Both Prairie Rose and the Nelson County Courthouse were able to apply for rebates from Missouri River Energy Services to assist with the expense. Missouri River Energy Services provided Prairie Rose with $1,126.80 and Nelson County Courthouse with $2,165.50 in rebates for their upgrades. This project will continue to save Prairie Rose and the Nelson County Courthouse for years to come with the reduction in energy usage long-term. The total estimated savings Prairie Rose will see is 3.794 kW monthly and 28,787 kWh annually and Nelson County Courthouse will see savings of 7.963 kW monthly and 29,530 annually. In addition to the energy savings, each facility have new fixtures and bulbs that have a longer life than previous technology; also saving on maintenance costs in the future. Many Lakota residents and businesses have received cash rebates over the past few years as part of an effort to encourage people to be more energy efficient. The program, known as Bright Energy Solutions®, provides incentives for qualifying energy-efficient residential heating and cooling equipment and Energy Star appliances. Business customers can also take advantage of rebates for a variety of measures including lighting, variable-frequency drives, heating and cooling systems and food service equipment. “The Bright Energy Solutions program helps our customers get the most from their energy dollars by installing proven energy-efficient technologies,” said Amie Vasichek, Lakota City Auditor “Our utility is committed to playing a key role in promoting energy efficiency, and Bright Energy Solutions is just one of the innovative ways we can help customers realize energy savings in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly manner, today and well into the future.” To apply for cash incentives, customers must complete an application form and provide the required documentation to the city office.
